MicroGroup, a part of TE Connectivity, is a leading worldwide distributor of small-diameter/thin- walled tubing to more than half of the world’s largest medical device and analytical instrument companies, as well as those in aerospace and industry. Founded in 1971, MicroGroup has grown to offer more than 800 products and inventory of over 7,000,000 feet of tubing.
The client wanted to update their corporate website with a refreshed and updated look. They needed their website to be a better sales and marketing tool to help drive business growth. MicroGroup wanted to offer their web visitors and clients a more engaging experience where they can browse products or simply link to the online store to make a purchase.
Their old site had some operational problems that needed to be completely restructured. MicroGroup’s more than 800 products had to be updated and organized to be easy-to-navigate.
The client’s main goal was to provide web visitors to do one of three crucial actions: Request a Quote, visit the Online Store, or Call MicroGroup for information or assistance.
It was critical when switching from their current e-commerce site to the new website to do so seamlessly to avoid downtime and loss of revenue.
3 Media Web created the new MicroGroup website with a clean and uncluttered design, despite the comprehensive product line and detailed information on the site. The result is straight-up and simple to use. The Homepage has immediate links to Request a Quote and visit the Online Store, achieving the client’s goal of encouraging the user to one of two key actions.
A short scroll down the page, directly above the Home page footer, another Request for Quote appears. Again, on key pages, important Calls to Action are seen, reinforcing the client’s objectives.
The Homepage features the six key product categories that provide users with the ability to drill down to interior pages that include detailed information in descriptive and chart form, as well as to the e-commerce Add to Cart function.
The main navigation bar includes Capabilities with a drop-down menu that lists 15 areas of expertise including 7 that link to pages with more detailed information. The Applications drop down links to eight pages for medical specialties, as well as to aerospace and industrial applications.
The Live Assistant feature on the site increases user engagement, ensuring assistance when a prospect has a question while visiting the website.
The new MicroGroup website has an updated design that supports the company’s reputation as a leader in its field. It engages both browsers for information as well as prospects and clients who appreciate its e-commerce capabilities and ease of use. 3 Media Web was able to launch the new website with no downtime or loss of revenue.
